We offer a range of pathway programs to help you gain alternative entry into your preferred UniSA or UniSA Online degree.

Our programs will prepare you for university study by building your academic skills, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in your chosen degree. You will experience life as a UniSA student, learn from UniSA staff and have access to a full range of support services. UniSA College delivers programs from January to December with personalised study plans for greater flexibility.

Once you’ve successfully completed your program, you will be able to transfer into one of UniSA’s undergraduate degrees.

That’s why UniSA offers a wide range of alternative entry options, so you can embark on your education and career journey. Whether you have just finished high school, are returning to study after a few years, or you want to switch up your degree – we’ve got your back.

  • degree-simple UniSA Foundation Studies minus-thin plus-thin

    UniSA Foundation Studies

    You will study core courses to develop critical writing, research, and overall study skills. These key skills will, not only help you to gain entry, but ensure success at university and beyond.

    After successfully completing this six-month program, you can progress into an Undergraduate Certificate in University Studies with a chosen specialisation in Business, Creative Studies, Education Studies, Health, Social Sciences or STEM. You can also choose to progress from UniSA Foundation Studies to a diploma with many specialisations on offer. From here, you can apply for UniSA or UniSA Online degrees using your competitive Grade Point Average (GPA).

    • 6 months full-time
    • 3 or 4 courses, depending on an Enrolment Planning tool
    • Open access, fee-free (student amenities fees apply*)
    • No formal entry requirements, including ATAR or grades. Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, holder of an Australian permanent visa, not have completed a TAFE/VET awards at Cert IV or higher, be at least 18 years (unless you’ve completed SACE or a Cert III)
    • Successful completion guarantees entry to UG Cert & diplomas, regardless of GPA

    Diplomas

    Our wide range of diplomas provide a pathway into more than 100 UniSA and UniSA Online degrees. There are 21 specialisations across areas in Business, Creative Studies, Education Studies, Health, Social Sciences and STEM.

    You will kickstart your career by studying a combination of courses that will develop your academic skills, along with up to two first-year courses from your related bachelor’s degree. This will give you a real insight into your preferred degree and up to two study credits (conditions apply).

    You will study in a highly supported learning environment with additional help from UniSA College staff, while having direct access to UniSA learning resources, campus facilities and support services. After successfully completing your diploma, you can apply for direct entry into your chosen bachelor’s degree using your Grade Point Average (GPA).

    • 12 months full-time
    • 8 courses with up to 2 credits towards a bachelor degree
    • On-campus (City West) or on-campus/online
    • Entry requirements remain, minimum ATAR 50
    • Access 100% of UniSA or UniSA Online degrees (full list on pages 16-20 of the Pathways guide)
    • Graduate with a standalone qualification

    Undergraduate Certificate in University Studies

    Through an Undergraduate Certificate in University Studies, you will explore courses aligned to your area of interest.

    Before progressing to a UniSA or UniSA Online degree, you will be able to study in a highly supportive environment which will prepare you for future university learning. Once you’ve successfully completed your Undergraduate Certificate, you will graduate with a standalone qualification and can use your Grade Point Average (GPA) to apply for direct entry into more than 90 bachelor degrees depending on your chosen specialisation.

    This pathway option is ideal if you recently completed UniSA Foundation Studies or are currently enrolled in a UniSA or UniSA Online degree but are interested in exploring a different discipline.

    • 6 months full-time, completing 4 courses
    • Apply direct through UniSA College
    • Specialisations in Business, Creative Studies, Education Studies, Health, Social Sciences and STEM
    • Graduate with a standalone qualification
    • Access 90% of UniSA degrees.
