Aim

The Graduate Certificate in Strategic Communication aims to provide students with advanced knowledge and skills in public relations, communication campaigns, content creation and access to industry knowledge, settings and networks in communication and media.

Content & Structure

The Graduate Certificate in Strategic Communication (18 units) comprises the core (4.5 units) and 3 specialist courses (4.5 units each).

The core, Communication, Media and Creative Industries, provides students with an integrated approach to the creative industries sector. The course interrogates the disruptive digital technologies transforming society and the dynamic role that creative industries have in navigating these challenges.

The specialist courses in the Graduate Certificate in Strategic Communication provide an integrated learning experience within public relations and strategic communication within a Graduate Certificate. Communication Contexts provides the foundations of public relations and strategic communication theory and practices. Campaigns and Crises provides students with research and planning skills while Content Creation provides students with advanced writing and communication skills. Students transform theory into work-relevant skills via the production of deliverables for industry partners.
