Entry requirements
Applicants are required to:
Hold a minimum of a Bachelor degree from the fields of Nursing, Midwifery, Health, Human Welfare Studies and Services, or Behavioural Science. Or equivalent qualification from a recognised higher education institution; or
Have completed hospital based training as a registered nurse and/or midwife.
Aim
To provide students with knowledge, skills and attitudes to work with people experiencing perinatal mental health conditions.
Content & Structure
The program requires completion of 18 units of study in the specialty area of Perinatal Mental Health. Courses integrate knowledge and understanding of theories, concepts, principles and competencies applied to, and underpinning, the management of individuals at risk of, or known to have mental health conditions.
