Applicants are required to meet one of the following criteria with a competitive result:Higher education study
- Successfully completed equivalent to a minimum of half a year of full-time study over a higher education
program at a recognised higher education provider
OR
Vocational Education and Training (VET)
- Complete an award from a registered training organisation at Certificate IV or above
OR
Work and life experience (for domestic students only)
- Passed a UniSA Online literacy and numeracy test and have relevant work experience, or
- Completed a 12-month UniSA Foundation Studies program or equivalent, or
- Qualify for Special Entry
OR
Recent secondary education
- Completed a secondary education qualification equivalent to SACE, such as an interstate year 12 or
international qualification

Aim
This program aims to provide a solid grounding in the application of information technology to prepare graduates for a career specialising in system design, programming, data analytics, or IT security, particularly in a small to medium business setting.
Content & Structure
The Associate Degree in Information Technology consists of 72 units.
This program will consist of:
- UO Critical Approaches to Online Learning - a core course all students new to higher education and online study undertake to help prepare them for successful university level online learning, OR a university-wide elective.
- 7 core courses from the Bachelor of Information Technology.
- 1 cloud platforms course.
- 1 minor (18 units) in either Information Technology or Data Analytics.
- 3 IT electives that will receive credit if the students undertake work experience for the duration of the program in the area of IT.
A total of 72 units is required to complete the program.
