Aim

The Master of Education Studies qualifies graduates to critically apply an advanced body of knowledge in a range of contexts for professional practice or scholarship regarding teaching and learning. Graduates will possess advanced knowledge of communication strategies, and be able to design, implement and critically evaluate learning plans. Graduates will also be able to initiate and respond effectively to the needs of individual learners in professional learning contexts.

Content & Structure

Students will complete 72 units of study.

1. The Education Pedagogy elective courses are equivalent to the education pedagogy courses that the students will have completed in the Master of Teaching (Early Childhood), the Master of Teaching (Primary) or the Master of Teaching (Secondary) (MMET).

2. The Curriculum Electives are equivalent to the curriculum courses that the students will have completed in the Master of Teaching (Early Childhood), the Master of Teaching (Primary) or the Master of Teaching (Secondary) (MMET).

3. The Professional Experience course is equivalent to the professional experience course the students will have completed in the Master of Teaching (Early Childhood), the Master of Teaching (Primary) or the Master of Teaching (Secondary) (MMET).

4. The Master of Education Studies does not qualify graduates to apply for professional registration as a teacher in Australia.
