Aim

The Graduate Diploma in Design (Interior Architecture) qualifies individuals who apply a body of knowledge in professional design, communication, project management to undertake highly skilled work in demanding and complex interior design practice within multi-disciplinary project teams, and as a pathway for further learning.

Content & Structure

Students of the Graduate Diploma in Design (Interior Architecture) will develop an advanced systematic and coherent body of knowledge in interior architecture, and will further acquire the principles and practices of designing and maintaining socially and environmentally responsive interior environments that sustain human existence.

Students will develop cognitive skills to review, analyse, consolidate and synthesise knowledge to identify and propose solutions to complex design challenges through the various stages of a design or building project, from its conceptual design and documentation through to its production and beyond.

The students will complete 36 units of study comprising 18 units of research studio, 4.5 units of research methods, and 13.5 units of electives.
