This is an employer reserved program for Registered Nurses employed by the Cook Islands Ministry of Health.
Applicants are required to:
be registered with the relevant Nurses Registration Authority in own country or place of residence;
have successfully completed a Diploma of Nursing or equivalent;
be currently employed by the Cook Islands Ministry of Health; and
have a scholarship from the Cook Islands Ministry of Health to undertake the program.

In addition, international students who speak English as a second language must have obtained one of the following standards within the last two years prior to admission. Possession of one or more of these qualifications, in addition to the academic entry requirements, does not, in itself, guarantee a place at the University of South Australia. Applications are considered on an individual basis and selection is competitive. Where previous study/work experience was conducted in English, the application must be accompanied by certified documentation from the educational institution/employer certifying that the language of instruction/employment was English.

The program is designed to provide a pathway for Registered Nurses employed by the Cook Islands Ministry of Health who have completed a Diploma of Nursing or equivalent, to upgrade their qualification to a bachelor's degree.
Content & Structure
The program, requiring completion of 36 units of prescribed study, is based on advancing the Registered Nurse's knowledge and understanding in current and contemporary issues in Nursing.
