Entry requirements
Successful completion of a recognised bachelor degree, or an equivalent qualification. Applicants who have completed the Graduate Certificate in Environmental Management and Sustainability will also be eligible for entry.
English language entry requirements
In addition, international students who speak English as a foreign language must have obtained one of the following standards within the last two years prior to admission. Possession of one or more of these qualifications, in addition to the academic entry requirements, does not, in itself, guarantee a place at the University of South Australia. Applications are considered on an individual basis and selection is competitive. Where previous study/work experience was conducted in English, the application must be accompanied by certified documentation from the educational institution/employer certifying that the language of instruction/employment was English.

Aim

The program prepares students for careers in a wide range of resource management agencies and industries and equips them with the knowledge and skills necessary to take a leadership role and responsibility in those organisations.

Content & Structure

The Masters program (Water Management) requires the completion of 54 units of courses. Students can complete either:

four core courses (18 units), Environmental Research Project 1 and Environmental Research Project 2 (18 units), and four Water Management electives (18 units.) OR
four core courses (18 units), four Water Management electives (18 units) and four electives from the Master of Environmental Management and Sustainability (Natural Resource Management) (18 units).

Rules & notes

Rules

1. Credit will not normally be granted for more than one third of the total units of the program.

2. Students undertaking Environmental Research Projects 1 & 2 must have prior approval from the Program Director. Normally this will require a GPA of 6 or greater and demonstrated ability to undertake a research project. Students will normally enrol in these courses in their second year of study. Research topics will normally be identified earlier. Students must successfully complete Environmental Research Project 1 before they can commence Environmental Research Project 2
