Applicants are required to have at least one of the following qualifications:
A completed Bachelor degree in engineering, science or technology or equivalent from a recognised higher education institution;
OR
A completed Graduate Certificate in Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognised higher education institution
English language entry requirements
In addition, international students who speak English as a foreign language must have obtained one of the following standards within the last two years prior to admission. Possession of one or more of these qualifications, in addition to the academic entry requirements, does not, in itself, guarantee a place at the University of South Australia. Applications are considered on an individual basis and selection is competitive. Where previous study/work experience was conducted in English, the application must be accompanied by certified documentation from the educational institution/employer certifying that the language of instruction/employment was English.

The Graduate Diploma aims to provide students with advanced learning in the practice of managing engineering operations. In addition it provides an opportunity for them to develop an understanding of engineering research methods and to undertake a workplace learning project to apply the knowledge they have developed in the program.
Content & Structure
The program contains studies in quality management, project planning and control, intelligent manufacturing systems including the use of robotics and automation and energy management. Students are also learn about research methods in engineering and are given the opportunity to apply their knowledge to a substantial work based project which is undertaken with a local organisation.
1. Students are required to have successfully completed 18 units in the program before enrolling in the course EDUC 4192 Learning in the Workplace Project.
2. Students must complete ONLY ONE foundation course in their first study period and are not permitted to take two foundation courses.
Notes
1. Students enrolling in the course Learning in the Workplace Project EDUC 4192 should contact the course co-ordinator at least 6 weeks prior to the commencement of the teaching of the course to begin the process of being placed into a suitable project.
