- Applicants are required to have completed Bachelors degree from a recognised higher education institution or equivalent; OR
- completed Graduate Certificate in Business Information Management or equivalent with a Grade Point Average of 5.0 or above

Possession of one or more of these qualifications, in addition to the academic entry requirements, does not, in itself, guarantee a place at the University of South Australia. Applications are considered on an individual basis and selection is competitive. Aim

The program prepares students for careers in a wide range of business information management areas: technically skilled records managers, archivists, preservation managers and administrators, as well as information officers.

Rules & notes

Rules

1. The program requires the completion of 36 units.

2. Students undertaking this program will be required to complete 4 weeks of work placement to satisfy accrediting bodies.If students are employed they will be exempt from this work placement.

3. Students must enrol in the course Information Management Experience Reports and assessment will remain incomplete until the student either provides documentary evidence of current employment or submits a written report and receives a pass.

Notes

1. Not all electives will necessarily be available in any one calendar year and the decision on whether or not to offer a particular elective will depend on student demand.

2. This program is mainly offered online. There is no residential requirement for the program, but students are required to visit appropriate information management facilities as part of various courses in the program.

3. Students who do not possess an undergraduate degree must complete the Graduate Diploma with a GPA of 5.0 or above before continuing to the Masters.

4. This program is not available to international students studying onshore. The program can be completed fully online from their home country. There is a required 4 week industry placement. This program is accredited by the Record Information Professionals of Australasia (RIM).
