- A completed Bachelor degree in a related discipline from at a recognised higher education institution or equivalent qualification; " OR
- A completed Graduate Diploma in a related discipline from a recognised higher education institution.

Aim

The program is designed to provide experience in executing research projects and continuing education in areas relevant to the specific professional interests of graduate students.

Content & Structure

The degree requires the completion of courses comprising 54 units. The formal study component must include Minor Thesis TS 1 (CIVE 5045) and Minor Thesis TS 2 (CIVE 5046). At least 18 units (4 courses) must be chosen from the listed core courses. The remaining 18 units (4 courses) may be selected from the listed elective courses.

Rules

1. Credit will not normally be granted for more than one third of the total units of the program.

2. Individual programs of study to satisfy the overall formal study requirements of 54 units may be constructed by choice of electives. Such electives shall be drawn mainly from within existing master degree, graduate diploma or graduate certificate programs and shall be approved by the Program Director.

Notes

1. Full-time students may complete the program in eighteen calendar months (3 semesters).

2. Not all courses will be available in any one calendar year.

3. Students will normally enrol in the Minor Thesis TS 1 (CIVE 5045) and Minor Thesis TS 2 (CIVE 5046) in their second year of study. Research topics will normally be identified earlier.

4. The Graduate Diploma in Professional Practice (Transport Systems Engineering) provides a pathway for subsequent entry to this program and both awards can be completed in two years of full time study or part time equivalent.
