Entry requirements
Entry into the program can be either:- As a currently enrolled UniSA domestic HDR student. Four year undergraduate degree or equivalent. Applicants who do not meet this academic requirement may be eligible to enter the course on the basis of professional activities in the Research and Development Management or related fields. Such applicants are advised to contact the Course Coordinator for ruling on eligibility. These students are eligible to apply for the Commercialisation Training scholarship, which covers both tuition fees and a living allowance where applicable. Selection for CTS places and scholarships is competitive, based on academic merit and the probability of pursuing a career that will use the skills, knowledge and experience gained during CTS training; or
- As a fee paying student. Entry requires completion at a recognised tertiary institution of a degree at bachelor level with first or second class honours, or a postgraduate diploma in a relevant discipline. A minimum of four years of full-time equivalent study is required. International students may be limited to undertaking one course at a time. There will be no further intakes into this program. The last intake was in 2011.
Aim
To provide understandings and opportunities for skill and cognitive development commensurate with middle management and/or leadership of a high ranking public or private sector research services unit. In doing so, the course aims to explore the conceptual underpinning of innovation systems and to introduce students to the higher level strategic and entrepreneurial thinking required of executive leadership in research.
Content & Structure
The program is offered completely online, to domestic and to international students offshore. The Graduate Certificate in Research Commerciallisation (DCRC) requires the completion of 4 courses, of which Knowledge Transfer and Commercialisation is compulsory. The Masters program comprises of:
5 core courses consisting of 27 units; the choice of elective courses consisting of an additional 27 units. Elective masters level units may not be taken until 24 credit points of core program content has been completed. On successful completion of 36 including Knowledge Transfer and Research Commercialisation students would be eligible to exit with a Graduate Diploma in Research and Development Management. On successful completion of 54 CP including all core units students would be eligible to exit with a Master of Research and Development Management.
