Aim

The Bachelor of Digital Media degree develops creative, intellectual, technical and professional knowledge and skills and qualifies individuals to operate as reflective and responsive practitioners in digital media design and production.

The Bachelor of Digital Media qualifies individuals who apply a broad and coherent body of knowledge and skills across a variety of discipline areas within digital media arts, technology, computer-generated imagery (CGI) and digital media developing critical analysis and communication skills in a range of digital media technologies across a variety of platforms to undertake professional work in design technology and media production.

Content & Structure

Graduates of the Bachelor of Digital Media will have a broad and coherent knowledge in the creation and development of digital media across a broad range of fields and disciplines. Graduation will have transferable knowledge in all aspects from conceptualisation and narratives through to production and post-production, combining digital forms of interactive text and image making, web design, multimedia and digital design. Graduates will have professional skills in all stages in the production of apps and websites, with understanding of different media platforms implications of this development for the user experience. Additionally, graduates will gain historical and cultural perspectives of contemporary media-scapes within which cultural and commercial work manifests itself.
The students will complete 108 units of study comprising 90 units of core courses and 18 units of electives.
