Admission criteria

The admission criteria have been grouped to assist you to easily find the information most relevant to your circumstances. However, you may fit into more than one and the university will consider applicants against each of the relevant criteria.

Applicants are required to meet one of the following criteria with a competitive result:

Higher education study
- Successfully completed equivalent to a minimum of half a year of full-time study of a higher education
  program at a recognised higher education provider
OR

Vocational Education and Training (VET)
- Completed an award from a registered training organisation at Certificate IV level or above
OR

Work and life experience (for domestic students only)
- Passed a UniSA Online literacy and numeracy test and have relevant work experience;
- Completed a UniSA Foundation Studies program or equivalent; or
  Qualified for Special Entry
OR

Recent secondary education
- Completed a secondary education qualification equivalent to SACE, such as an interstate year 12
  international qualification with a competitive selection rank (ATAR)

Aim

The Bachelor of Business (Economics, Finance and Trade) provides a high quality, broad-based business education program for a professional career within the global business environment analysing economic exchange and trade activities both nationally and within the international context.

Content & Structure

Students undertake the UniSA Business core courses, the required courses in Economics, Finance and Trade and appropriate electives. The program requires completion of courses totalling 108 units.

Rules & notes

Rules

1. Assessment requirements for this degree include at least one online exam. The online exam software has system compatibility requirements, specifically that tablets, hybrid devices and mobile devices are not supported. Please refer to the online exam requirements prior to conducting your exam to ensure your computer and software is compatible to undertake the exam.

2. When choosing electives, students may select any course in the Suggested electives list; or UniSA Online electives list. Elective choices are subject to pre-requisite requirements and availability.

Notes

1. Students who have been granted block credit who have not previously studied courses in economics or quantitative methods, must undertake these courses as an elective.

2. Students that have been assessed as completing a qualification in a business discipline at AQF diploma level or equivalent and have received 36 units of block credit are not required to complete this course.

3. Students who have received an Economics Career Grant (ECG) for completion of SACE Stage 2 Economics* with a B+ or higher should not complete this course but undertake a professional development elective approved by their program director within three years of commencement of their program, as outlined in their grant letter of offer. Students are required to complete an online course as outlined in their grant letter of offer. *Or interstate equivalent to be determined by UniSA Business.

4. This course is recommended for students who are new to university studies or require development in academic and research skills.
