Aim

The Graduate Certificate in Creature Effects aims to prepare students for employment as creature effects artists in the global visual effects industry.

Content & Structure

The Graduate Certificate in Creature Effects is comprised of four 4.5 unit courses that are undertaken over an intensive 12 week period. Students are immersed in a simulated studio environment at Rising Sun Pictures’ Adelaide headquarters. Students are introduced to the various roles and responsibilities of visual effects artists in a creative production schedule. They will develop industry-standard Creature Effects skills in cloth and hair simulations, alongside developing trouble shooting and shot finalling skills. They will produce high-quality, industry standard production work for inclusion in their professional showreel.

From 4 August 2025, the University of South Australia will no longer be accepting applications for new students. Study at Adelaide University.
