Entry requirements

To be eligible for admission an applicant will be required to have one of the following:
- A completed bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognised higher education institution;
- A Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security, Graduate Diploma in Information Technology, or Graduate Diploma in Information Systems from a recognised higher education institution; OR
- A Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security, Graduate Certificate in Information Technology, or Graduate Certificate in Information Systems from a recognised higher education institution.

Aim

The Master of Information Technology (Cyber Security) aims to develop cyber security professionals with advanced knowledge and skills to advise stakeholders on the relevant cyber security standards, frameworks and guidelines to ensure compliance in complex enterprise environments and critically examine and implement a range of technology based cyber security defences that will migrate emerging threats and attacks

Content & Structure

This two year (72 unit) program will provide students with specialist knowledge and skills relevant to the field of cyber security. The first four courses are designed to build the underlying body of knowledge primarily in foundational information technology. The next four courses will focus on introducing risk and governance, human factors and cyber criminal behaviour, and network security. The remaining six courses will provide advanced knowledge and skills in security operations and architecture, enterprise security, cyber physical security and consultancy skills.

The final course, a capstone project offers the opportunity for students to integrate and apply skills and expertise developed throughout the program.

Rules

1. Students who have completed the UniSA Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security (LCCY) will be eligible to receive credit in lieu of these courses and complete the program in 1.5 years of full-time study or equivalent part-time study.

2. Students that have completed a Bachelor of Information Technology (Networking and Cybersecurity) (LBCP) at UniSA are eligible to receive advanced standing in lieu of these courses and complete the program in 1.5 years of full-time study or equivalent part-time study.
