Aim

The program prepares graduates to improve the health, fitness and wellbeing of the community and qualifies individuals who apply a broad and coherent knowledge of psychological science. In the field of Exercise and Sport Science, graduates are prepared for work providing counselling to athletes, enhanced rehabilitation services and enhancing the physical health and mental wellbeing of the population. It opens up opportunities for graduates pursuing a teaching career to teach Science and Psychology at secondary level.

This double degree can form the first part of a pathway to becoming a practising psychologist (including sports psychologist) with further study in the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), and the first part of a pathway to teaching with further study in the Master of Teaching.

Content & Structure

This 144 unit program is equivalent to four years of full-time study. Students complete a set of eight Exercise and Sport Science courses from the Human Movement program. Students also study an additional 11 core Human Movement courses. Students must complete 13 core Psychological Science courses.
