Aim

The program aims to provide a broad and fundamental understanding of the theory and practice of the disciplines of engineering and business management. It prepares graduates for careers in many sectors of the economy including accounting, computing, electronics and communications, networking communications, transport, manufacturing and defence industries and in government agencies with relevant skills in business management. It also provides a professional level of education for potential and current managers.

Content & Structure

The program requires 180 units of study which consist of 117 units for the engineering degree and 63 units for the management (marketing) degree. Within the program, there is a professional engineering practice stream of 5 courses (22.5 units), including the project, which address the area of management within the engineering context.

The courses in the program are structured as follows:

  • 22 engineering courses including, mathematics, science, computing and technical engineering subjects;
  • 5 engineering courses (including project) that have a strong focus on management in the engineering context;
  • 13 generic management and marketing courses;
