Aim

The Laws Double Degree (with Engineering) will provide a professional level of education for students seeking to pursue a legal career. Study in the engineering discipline will provide students with the background to enable them to operate in specialised working environments.

Content & Structure

The total number of units is 225 - that is, 50 courses. Those 50 courses are divided between the two programs: 24 courses from the Bachelor of Laws program; and a minimum of 26 courses from one of the engineering degrees (except the Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics which has 25 courses totalling 49 courses and 225 units. Six courses (27 units) from the Bachelor of Laws program are not prescribed, enabling double degree students to complete the Honours program (9 units), one additional law elective (4.5 units) and the three practice elective courses (13.5 units). Students must complete 225 units to meet the requirements of this double degree program.
