Entry requirements
Applicants are required to have a completed Bachelors degree, Graduate Certificate, or a Graduate Diploma in a relevant discipline from a recognised higher education institution or equivalent.
Relevant disciplines typically include science, engineering, environmental studies and management. Applicants with qualifications in other disciplines are encouraged to apply and will be assessed on a case by case basis.
Please note the program name has changed to the Master of Environmental Science.
Aim
The program prepares students for careers in a wide range of resource management agencies and industries and equips them with the knowledge and skills necessary to take a leadership role and responsibility in those organisations.
Content & Structure
The Master of Environmental Sciences requires the completion of 72 units of courses. Students must complete:
- Five core courses (22.5 units);
- Seven electives (31.5 units); and
- NBE Research Thesis (18 units)

The University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia are combining their strengths to create a new university for the future, Adelaide University, opening in January 2026.
