Entry requirements
Applicants are required to have completed one of the following qualifications:
- 3 year undergraduate degree plus honours in a recommended field *(Australian or equivalent)
- It is assumed that all applicants will have a demonstrated background in mathematics (i.e. at least equivalent to year 12 mathematics (e.g. Mathematical Studies in South Australia). Course prerequisites indicate where a higher level of mathematical ability is required.
*Engineering and Science are considered as recommended fields.
** Professionals with extensive experience working in the water industry who do not meet the academic requirements may be eligible for entry to the Graduate Certificate in Water Resources Management.

Aim

The program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to increase their breadth and depth of knowledge and application of skills in the area of water resources management. The wide variety of specialised coursework electives and study options enable students to create a program of study that meets their individual needs. Study options include further coursework, a research project or an industry project. The industry project has been designed to assist students in becoming professionally aware through quality interaction with industry leaders.

Content & Structure

To be eligible for the degree students are required to complete a total of 18 units of core courses.

Rules

1. This is a fee paying program.

2. This program is available in full-time and part-time mode. Full-time students who wish to complete the Graduate Certificate in one study period may choose 2 core courses from the Program Schedule and 2 coursework electives from other University postgraduate programs with the approval of the Program Director.

3. At the discretion of the Program Director, students who are able to provide evidence that they have successfully completed a similar postgraduate course or can demonstrate knowledge through professional experience; will be eligible to undertake an alternate coursework elective in place of a core course.

4. Students must complete at least 50% of their studies at their home institution.

Notes

1. All the ICE WaRM Universities contribute expertise to the delivery of the core courses. These courses and other specified courses are delivered using 'Access Grid', an internet conference facility.
