Aim

The program aims to prepare students for professional careers in engineering and medical sciences and develop skills to investigage, plan, design, manufacture and maintain systems and equipment used in all aspects of helath care.

Content & Structure

The program has been devised to give a very broad engineering knowledge in the first 2 years so that graduates have an extensive understanding of basic fundamentals and an appreciation of the diversity of engineering.  The first year contains study in fundamental science and engineering courses including electrical and engergy systems and mathematics.  The second year builds on this base with courses dealing with a variety of areas including biomechanics, human physiology and biomedical instrumentation.  Students then transfer to Flinders University to complete their award.
