This unique offering allows you to elevate your career prospects by completing two industry-informed qualifications that have been developed to meet the fast-changing needs of the communication and media industries.

This package provides you with an opportunity to study a three-year bachelor degree and a one-year master degree (typically two years) in four years by substituting four undergraduate courses for selected postgraduate courses in the third year of your bachelor degree.

You will study courses in campaigns and crises; digital design; communication, media and creative industries; and digital entrepreneurship, and will get the chance to undertake an industry-supervised project or research thesis in your final year.

Fast-track your studies by undertaking a 3+1 Pathway to Masters study in Communication package. This package provides you with the opportunity to study a three-year bachelor degree and complete a master degree with just one extra year of study.

You will accelerate your progression into your master qualification by utilising the electives in your bachelor degree to complete master level courses.

What are the requirements of the program?

Entry into our 3+1 Pathway to Masters package for Communication is dependent on the completion of your Bachelor of Communication and Media. You must also achieve a GPA of 4.0 (credit average) in the first two years of your Bachelor’s program to be eligible to move into the Masters Pathway in your final year. Detailed entry requirements and admission criteria for each bachelor degree is outlined on the individual degree pages.

What will I pay?

All courses you complete within the Bachelor of Communication and Media program are Commonwealth Supported, so you can defer your payments via HECS-HELP. When you enter the Masters qualification, the full fees are $22,500 p/a, however these can be partly or fully deferred via FEE-HELP.

Applications to undertake a 3+1 Pathway to Masters package can be made via SATAC using the unique SATAC code for your chosen program. Once you’ve received your offer into the bachelor program, make an appointment with the your program director to discuss your study plan. You will need to ensure that you study the correct combination of courses and electives in order to complete your master qualification in one year.
