Australian Society provides students’ with knowledge, analytical skills and understandings of the complexities of Australian society, culture and politics prior to and following European settlement. Students will examine key historical figures, issues and events and how they have influenced contemporary Australian life and develop an understanding of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal relations throughout colonial history.
Students should normally complete Level 1 and Level 2 courses before attempting Level 3 courses in the major/sub-major.
Students choose either HUMS 2034 Forging a Nation: Australian History 1920-Present OR HUMS 2008 Right and Racism
If COMM3063 Internship or Project or PERF3006 Industry and Practice are not part of your Program or you have already undertaken these courses please speak to your Program Director for alternate options.
