Course aim

To train the student to carry out a research project in a laboratory or field environment, to practice the skills the student has developed in the Honours Project 1 and Research Theory and Practice courses. The course aims to provide an intensive research experience, including preparation of experiments, data collection, data analysis, interpretation of results in the context of current scientific literature, presentation of a final seminar, and preparation of an Honours Thesis that describes the project work the student has carried out over the whole year.

Course content

This course is intended to provide an introduction to research project, research the scientific literature to understand and be able to describe to others the background and current state of knowledge in the area of research project, and establish a research plan, and commence research work on the project.
