Course aim

To provide students with the skills necessary to carry out the research component of this MSc effectively and successfully.

Course content

This module will provide students with an introduction to research, giving an insight into the underlying principles upon which scientific and social research is based.
It will then go on to describe the tools and methods used to carry out and disseminate quantitative research. It will include 5 major themes;

  • Understanding Quantitative Research & Managing Your Research
  • Scientific Methods and Design of Experiments
  • Analysis of Numeric Data & Statistics
  • Presenting Quantitative Data
  • Management, Storage and Archiving of Quantitative Data
