Socio-political factors impacting the nurse practitioner role, professional, legal, and ethical frameworks for nurse practitioner practice; professional and regulatory standards, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia endorsement requirements and processes; funding models and mechanisms, medical & pharmaceutical benefits schemes, provider numbers, indemnity and business management; theories and models relevant to advanced and extended practice; scope and models of nurse practitioner practice in primary and tertiary health care contexts; collaborative, private & team practice; business models, professional identity and authority, accountability and responsibility, referral and collaboration; clinical leadership; determinants of health, cultural safety, public health, primary health care, health informatics and health technologies.
