Surveying Project 1N

Course aim

To apply surveying knowledge and experience to a significant surveying problem.

Course content

Students may elect to undertake either a Cadastral or non-Cadastral Surveying Project. Students undertaking the Cadastral Surveying option will undertake a significant investigation project in an urban context. The project will be practically oriented and involve the determination of road alignments and the redefinition of selected allotment boundaries. The project will be supervised by a staff member of the University and a master surveyor from the profession.

Non-Cadastral surveying projects will also be practically oriented, aimed at solving a problem and will be reported by way of a major report. Each student will be allocated a supervisor from the University.

The results of all projects will be presented to the University and the Surveyors Board of SA.
