Course aim

To advance student understanding about the impact of the digital on traditional media formats, popular culture, identity and society.

Course content

Mapping the historic development of digital media, students will examine how the digital has transformed traditional screen media formats through new forms of space, time, aesthetics and story-telling. Drawing on interdisciplinary studies of the digital and work in the digital humanities, students will examine how the digital mediates everyday life and how the digital intersects with broader issues of space, locality, identity, popular culture, the public and the private.
