Course aim

This course provides students with advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of the role of the Board and the duties and responsibilities of being a Director.

Course content

The Course is delivered by Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) appointed facilitators. Topics covered in this course are those delivered in the Company Directors Course offered directly by the AICD comprising the following 10 modules :

1. The Role of the Board and the Practice of Directorship
2. Decision Making
3. Directors' Duties and Responsibilities
4. The Board's Legal Environment
5. Risk: Issues for Boards
6. Strategy: The Board's Role
7. Financial Literacy for Directors
8. Driving Financial Performance
9. Achieving Board Effectiveness
10. Learning into Practice

1. Be enrolled in the UniSA MBA program (DMMA). 2. Completed at least 8 courses in the MBA (the required courses include any course credits granted). 3. Grade Point Average (GPA) of Credit and above (GPA > 5.0). 4. Be a current member of the Australian Institute Company Directors.
