Course aim

To enable students to consolidate midwifery practice and transition into their professional midwifery role with a focus on evidence-based, reflective practice and lifelong learning.

Course content

Current and future contexts of midwifery at a local, national and international level; innovation and change in midwifery practice; midwifery practice skills (perineal suturing and cannulation); teamwork and conflict resolution; lifelong learning and continuous professional development; teaching and supervision skills; program completion requirements; registration and employment processes; clinical reasoning; leadership; safety and quality; cultural safety; primary health.
