Course aim

To introduce pre-service arts educators (generalist or specialist) to practice-based research in arts education as a component of professional learning through a student-led collaborative process of inquiry.

Course content

Students will reflect on knowledge, skills, and understanding in arts education as a component of professional learning with reference to AITSL standards. Students will review arts education with a critical analysis and engagement with problem solving skills through Design Thinking (DT) and Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) inherent in arts education (practice, curriculum, pedagogy, policy). Students will develop expertise for future delivery of collaborative, transdisciplinary learning opportunities for educational contexts.
