Course aim

To extend the geospatial education of students in areas of advanced geographical information systems analysis and applications

Course content

Interpolation of point and polygon data to raster surfaces: review of algorithms, limitations of methods, surface accuracy estimation. Spatial statistics and their application in spatial analysis. Visualization of 3D and 4D spatial information: representation of the 3rd and 4th dimensions in computers; generation of static views; generation of dynamic views; reviews of software. Advanced GIS modelling: using graphical and other programming tools to develop models of environmental and social problems. Issues related to Intranet and Internet delivery of GIS. GIS issues in business.
