Course aim
To advance the development of inclusive professional approaches to meet the diverse range of learner needs and contexts from birth to adulthood.
Course content
Students will develop critical knowledge and practice in inclusive education and cater to special educational needs of learners with disability, learning difficulties, language and communication disorders, social and emotional disorders, giftedness, marginalisation associated with gender, culture, race and linguistic diversity from birth to adulthood. Students will investigate inclusion strategies, exceptionality, equity, social justice, human rights, partnerships, person centred planning and advocacy; current legislative, ethical and policy directions in the context of education.
