Communicating Science

Course aim

To enable students to apply critical awareness of the role of science, engineering, technology and maths in contemporary societies; to show evidence of understanding of the complexity of communication requirements in the fields of science, engineering and technology for a range of different publics.  

Course content

Students will develop advanced knowledge of multi-disciplinary aspects of public and community responses to science and technology by investigating the processes and techniques for the effective and accurate communication of science, engineering and technology (SET) to wider audiences. Students will develop practical skills and apply complex oral and written communication practices, to communicate science, engineering and technology using a variety of media platforms and communication techniques. 

Students may elect to undertake either a project or placement for the final assessment.
