Course aim

To introduce students to the processes involved in the construction and interpretation of various creative texts and to develop students' own skills as readers and writers through in-depth engagement with texts.

Course content

Through this introductory creative-critical approach to textual study based on the writing and re-writing of texts, students will learn theoretical perspectives on literary study, the interface between language and literary/non-literary texts, and the interplay possible between writers, readers and text.  Using this knowledge, students will then produce their own interventions on a wide range of texts through creative writing, critical analysis and group presentations.
