Mechanical engineers design and build solutions that use mechanised power and machinery and tools. Engineer solutions to everyday challenges and learn about the latest developments in machinery design, manufacturing technologies, and sustainable energy usage and management.

Key features of our mechanical engineering program include:

  • Access to first-class facilities including the Engineering Mechatronics Lab and Experience One Studio.
  • Preparation for the workplace with a 12-week compulsory industry experience for undergraduates.
  • Gaining a strong foundation of engineering knowledge through specially designed core courses common to all UniSA engineering degrees.
  • Flexible study options: 
    • All lectures are offered online and available as a mix of face-to-face sessions (60%) and face-to-face or online lectures (40%). 
    • Courses are also available through blended mode and online delivery at the Whyalla campus.
  • Hands-on experience through practical projects. Previous projects include - World's Longest BikeWarman Challenge and Formula SAE car.
