The Graduate Certificate in Education (Educational Leadership) has been specifically designed for qualified educators who are interested in developing their knowledge, understanding and skills in the field of educational leadership.

You will explore a wide range of educational debates and issues relevant to your professional practice, while interacting with others studying and researching in similar settings, providing the insight of multiple perspectives.

This qualification also provides opportunities for leaders in a range of educational contexts to further enhance their leadership skills, and formalise their leadership qualifications.

You will graduate with an advanced understanding of what it requires to be an educational leader in an increasingly increasingly globalised, internationalised and complex educational environment.

Your graduate certificate will comprise of four courses, which provide an understanding of the complex and challenging nature of leaders’ work which a specific emphasis on educational leadership in globalising times.  

Study hours

For each course you study, you will need to allocate time for various classes such as lectures, tutorials, workshops, seminars and practicals. Plus you will need additional hours to study in your own time to complete assignments, readings and projects and contribute to online discussion forums. So as a general rule, if you are studying full-time you would need to allocate 12 – 26 hours of study when at university and 14 – 28 hours of independent study per week.

  • continuous assessment and supervisor evaluation.

I am the Program Director for the Master of Education, Master of Education (TESOL), the Graduate Certificate in Education (Educational Leadership), the Graduate Diploma in Education Studies (Digital Learning). I am also a Lecturer in English Language and Literacy in the School of Education. I completed my Bachelor of Teaching, Bachelor of Arts(Hons) and Master of Arts in linguistics at Deakin University (Melbourne), and my PhD in linguistics at the University of Sydney.

We also offer study support from our Learning Advisers. You can work with them face-to-face or online. They are here to help you develop academically and professionally during your studies. They also offer help with the English language. When you become a UniSA student you can contact Campus Central for help with anything related to your degree. They will help you with your enrolment, ID cards, fees, timetables and any other questions you might have.
