Clinical Applications of Echocardiography

Course aim

Provide the student with a sound knowledge of practical cardiac ultrasound scanning including appropriate use of instrumentation, patient care, measurements, reporting and advanced techniques to optimise the clinical diagnosis.

Course content

Development of an appropriate imaging strategy to perform cardiac ultrasounds safely and confidently in a clinical environment including using prior knowledge to extend the normal examination for various pathologies.

The students must complete at least 200 cardiac ultrasound examinations per study period.
