To provide students with an in-depth critical understanding of responsive pedagogy for Muslim students in Humanities and Social Science.
Complementing the aims of the HaSS curriculum students will gain appreciation for the diversity of Muslim students, their worldview, perspectives and ways of knowing. Students will analyse Islamic educational theory as this informs notions of holistic wellbeing and whole-child development. Students will critically examine Belonging, Being and Becoming within the Early Years Learning Framework and the Australian Curriculum with reference to Muslim students in Humanities and Social Science early childhood and primary school settings. They will also develop knowledge and skills in relation to responsive pedagogy to enhance inclusive practice and provide access to quality teaching and learning.
