To provide students with an understanding of contemporary cybercrime activities, and the nature and form of digital evidence.

Course content

In this course, students will gain broad and coherent knowledge of the following:

  • Contemporary examples of cybercrime activities and defence mechanisms.
  • Cybercrime tools and techniques utilised by malicious actors.
  • The sources and types of digital evidence.
  • The utility and importance of digital evidence in a legal setting.
  • The collection, analysis and presentation of digital evidence.
  • Current trends in cybercrime and digital evidence.
