Course aim

To support students to develop their knowledge and skills to create a positive learning environment and as early childhood students to apply play based pedagogy to plan engaging and effective experiences for children in the early years of school.

Course content

Students will focus on developing positive, effective and engaging classroom environments; building relationships with students, parents/carers and staff; evidence based teaching and learning practices; planning, implementing, assessing and evaluating learning experiences which are based on children’s interests and motivations through play-based pedagogy in the early years of school; Early Years Learning Framework and Australian Curriculum; strategies for reflexive practice.
