Course aim

Land Management involves learning the skills required to prepare a plan for managing a bushland site. These skills of assessing country, the threats to it, and strategies for repair are put into practice on a local site.

Course content

In this course you will build skills in understanding how plant and animal communities function, and how to recognise land degradation and other threats to country. You will be shown how the resilience of Aboriginal land management, combined with principles of ecology can be used to repair the damage to a local bushland site. You will visit that site several times to learn how to make observations and assess its problems, and write a plan similar to the Healthy Country Plans now widely used on Aboriginal country.
