This course provides the capstone for the performance major in the degree program. Upon completion students will have developed advanced skills in music performance and established a portfolio of musical works for public presentation. Students will produce a final public performance (or recording) of the works.
Students will develop a full repertoire of Jazz musical works which demonstrate expertise in music performance including technical skill and musical interpretation and presentation. Students will demonstrate mastery of these skills and a thorough understanding of Jazz styles and concepts through the presentation of a portfolio of learned musical works for performance. Students will further develop skills in working with other performers, composers and arrangers by leading rehearsals and producing performances.
