This course provides and combines a foundation training in economics and personal finance. The different components of the course reinforce one another to provide coherent and wide-ranging foundation theories and techniques of economics and personal finance, understanding of which is essential for a career in business, economics, finance, trade and in any other disciplines of social science. Successful accomplishment of the course will enable students self-confidently choose their pathways into a suitable undergraduate program.
Introduction to economics, demand and supply analysis, elasticity of demand and supply, market structures, economic growth, gross domestic product, unemployment and inflation, personal financial planning process, personal financial statements & budgets, personal income taxes, managing personal cash and savings, making automobile & housing decisions, using credit, and using consumer loans.
