Course aim

Provide students with a conceptual foundation and context of Internet, World Wide Web, and digital publishing as used in information-intensive professions.

Course content

Provides an overview and a developmental history of how computers, telecommunications, networking, and digital publishing functions and interactions in the information professions.  An overview of the languages that students need to become familiar with in their future profession i.e. XML, and HTML. Webpage development, Web interactivity, and social media. The course will also cover content management systems including Drupal, Word Press, and Blogger.
