Course aim

To extend students' knowledge by exploring Western and non-Western music theatre (musical) traditions and
contemporary practices and to effectively communicate that knowledge through music, singing, dialogue, acting
and choreography.

Course content

Students study major music theatre playwrights and composers and prepare scenes for performance.
Students participate in the Oz Asia Music Festival where they have the opportunity to perform creative work
within an intercultural context. Performances incorporate live music, song, drama and dance.

Completion of all required second year courses from the Performing Arts major/sub-major within the Bachelor of Arts, or by approval from the Program Director.
