Course aim

To provide a theoretical and practical extension to the determination of coordinates via the use of GNSS, the design of satellite based network control systems and the use of GNSS in geodetic and cadastral surveys.

Course content

Overview of global satellite positioning systems. Review of ICSM survey control guidelines. Advanced GNSS precision techniques/software for geodetic control. Control network design, adjustment and analysis. Combination of terrestrial and GNSS data in control networks. Height determination using GNSS and geoid interpolation. Planning and implementing advanced surveys (including engineering, topographical and cadastral) utilising RTK and high precision GNSS technology. Site calibration and transformations using existing survey control.
