Sport, Tourism and Events

Course aim

To provide a broad understanding of the contemporary importance of sport tourism. A critical analysis will be made of resource needs, markets and impacts that influence the planning and development of sport tourism events.

Course content

Special interest tourism; the sport-tourism relationship; the evolution and development of sport event tourism; sport tourism demand and supply; economic, socio-cultural & environmental impacts of sport tourism events; sport event tourism markets; the sport event tourism experience; case studies of sport tourism events.
