Operations Management

Course aim

This course delineates and defines roles and functions of operations management and places them in context with various areas of logistics and supply chain management. All organisations whether in manufacturing or service industries are involved in some form of operations management. Students will gain advanced theoretical knowledge to apply an integrated approach to the management of operations; investigate the areas of systems analysis, operations research; and be able to apply learned methods to operations management in the supply chain with their well-developed judgement and adaptability as a learner.

Course content

Roles and contributions of operations management in the supply chain; including strategies, business processes, improving quality, productivity and efficiencies, operational excellence, risk management and sustainability; and the developments and trends of operations management.
